Attendance is flexible; students may arrive and depart anytime during the scheduled session and are not required to stay for the full duration.

OVERVIEW


This course is designed for students with previous shooting experience, aiming to reinforce their existing skills while further enhancing their shooting abilities. Training takes place on our private multipurpose range, offering dynamic, real-world scenarios to improve accuracy, stability, and control during continuous shooting. Attendance is flexible; students may arrive and depart anytime during the scheduled session and are not required to stay for the full duration.








EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • Live fire course experience was provided by LFA

  • Law Enforcement and Military

  • USPSA, IDPA, IPSC shooter


PRACTICE OUTLINE


Arrival & Safety Briefing:

  • Enter the range and check-in.

  • Receive mandatory safety briefing conducted by the Instructor or Range Safety Officer (RSO).

Goal Setting & Session Planning:

  • Discuss and define the primary shooting skills for the session (e.g., accuracy, trigger control, draw speed, specific drill proficiency).

Preparation & Gear Up:

  • Prepare necessary equipment: firearms, ammunition, magazines, targets.

  • Safety gear (eye protection, hearing protection).

Warm-Up Drills:

  • Conduct initial shooting exercises focusing on fundamentals (e.g., stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger press).

  • Verify optic zero: Confirm the red dot sight is accurately zeroed (i.e., rounds are impacting where the dot is aimed at a known distance).

Focused Practice & Skill Development:

  • Execute drills specifically chosen to address the session's primary goals.

  • Receive feedback, corrections, and advice from the instructor during practice.

  • Rework drills and techniques based on instructor feedback to improve performance.

Debrief 

  • Clean up all the brass and target paper.

  • Briefly review session performance, key takeaways, and areas for future focus with the instructor.


EQUIPMENT LIST


  • Rent Firearms and Ammunition from LFA - One Handgun, eye and ear protection and targets.

  • Bring Your Own Firearms and Ammo- Firearms, ammunition, eye and ear protection, and targets. Optional: CCW, competition, and tactical gear.


  • Dress suitably for the activity and weather- wear sturdy belts for holsters, long pants, hats, water, a camping chair, sunblock, and closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops/sandals). Consider modest crew-neck or button-up shirts.


AMMO


  • Rent Firearms and Ammunition from LFA - 150 rounds of 9mm or equivalent.                       

  • Bring Your Own Firearms and Ammo- 300 rounds or more recommended.


  • Additional ammunition are available to purchase on site


PRECAUTIONS AND NOTES


San Jose Range: Included

Check in and sign waiver at the gate.


Please note that due to the costs associated with renting and setting up the range, we are unable to offer refunds once you have signed up.

Check the follow-up email when the course day is approaching for detailed course information.

Participants must follow the Range Safety Officer's commands. Violators of safety rules will be asked to leave without a refund.

Paying the fee and participating in the course is deemed agreement to the matters and instructions above.
